The Dental Foundation of North Carolina, Inc. is a 501(c)3 corporation whose motto is “Dedicated to excellence in dental education, research, and service.”
The corporation shall aid and promote education, research, patient care and service in the dental and allied dental fields by financial assistance to and support of the School of Dentistry of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (the “School of Dentistry”).
To that end, the corporation shall be operated exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes that are for the benefit of the School of Dentistry and, in furtherance of such purposes, the corporation shall have full power to receive donations, bequests, devises and gifts of money and property; to purchase, lease and otherwise acquire and hold, sell, donate and otherwise dispose of all kinds of property, real, personal and mixed; to make gifts and grants to the School of Dentistry; to pay in full or supplement the salary or salaries of persons engaged in any phase of dental education or research at the School of Dentistry; to donate or otherwise provide all or any part of the equipment, materials, or facilities incidental to and useful in educational or research work at the School of Dentistry; and, generally, to do any and all acts and things that may be deemed necessary or expedient for the development, expansion and extension of education and research at the School of Dentistry.
