The Foundation is organized exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific objects and purposes which are for the sole benefit of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. These objects and purposes include, but are not limited to, the following specific objects and purposes:
A. To aid, support, and promote teaching, research and service in the various educational, scientific, scholarly, professional, artistic, and creative endeavors of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill through means such as
• the support of excellence in instruction at said University at Chapel Hill;
• the support of research, scholarly, artistic, and creative work in or pertinent to the various disciplines in said University at Chapel Hill;
• the support of public service activities of said University at Chapel Hill;
• the support of students (undergraduate, graduate, and professional) at said University at Chapel Hill;
• the support of faculty of said University at Chapel Hill in research and study projects;
• the enhancement of the quality of supporting staff, services, and facilities at said University at Chapel Hill;
• the establishment of chairs of learning, professorships, visiting professorships, fellowships, and scholarships at said University at Chapel Hill;
• the support of libraries, laboratories, and other learning resources at said University at Chapel Hill; and
• the support of said University at Chapel Hill through gifts and grants for land acquisition and construction.
B. To solicit, acquire, receive, hold, invest, reinvest, sell, transfer, exchange, administer, and manage property of all kinds for the benefit of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and to make expenditures to and for the benefit of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
C. To do any and all acts and things which may be deemed desirable or expedient for the benefit of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, its programs, and its faculty, staff, and students.
